Account security at Royal Golden: password and two-factor sign-in

Your Royal Golden account holds your identity documents, applications and payments. This guide shows how, in the portal's "Security and privacy" section, to change your password, turn on two-factor sign-in, keep your recovery codes and recognise fake messages.

Your Royal Golden account is not just a username; your identity documents, applications, invoices and payments are in it. A few minutes spent securing it are well worth it.

The "Security and privacy" section

In the portal, the "Security and privacy" section lets you:

  • change your password;
  • turn two-factor sign-in on or off;
  • see the history of consents you have given.

A good password

  • Long and unique; a password used on another site is not suitable here.
  • A phrase of several words, or a password made by a password manager, is a good choice.
  • Never share your password with anyone, not even someone who says they work for Royal Golden.

Two-factor sign-in

With two-factor sign-in, signing in needs a six-digit code from the authenticator app on your phone as well as the password. If your password leaks, nobody can sign in without your phone.

To turn it on:

  • In the security section, choose "Turn on two-factor authentication".
  • Scan the QR code shown with your phone's authenticator app. If you cannot scan, enter the key shown manually.
  • Enter the app's six-digit code and choose "Confirm and turn on".

Recovery codes

After two-factor sign-in is turned on, several recovery codes are shown:

  • they are shown only once and each works once;
  • if you lose your phone, you sign in with one of these codes;
  • keep them somewhere safe away from your phone, for example in a password manager or on paper in a safe place.

Recognise fake messages

  • Royal Golden never asks for your password, two-factor code or recovery code.
  • Check the site's address in the browser before entering your password.
  • For payments, use only the address and amount shown in your own account in the portal.
  • If you received an invoice or receipt from Royal Golden and have doubts, scan its verification code; the guide "Verifying Royal Golden invoices and receipts with a QR code" explains how.

If you think your account is at risk

  • Change your password at once.
  • If two-factor sign-in is off, turn it on.
  • Tell us through portal support.

This guide is for using the Royal Golden portal safely.
