Refund after an official refusal: the 72-hour rule in the Vanuatu contract

Under Royal Golden's Vanuatu contract, if an official authority of Vanuatu refuses the application, everything received is refunded without deduction within 72 hours of the official notice arriving. This article explains this rule, how it differs from a voluntary withdrawal, and the Dominica rule.

One important question before signing any citizenship contract is: "What happens if the application is refused?" In Royal Golden's contracts the answer is not the same for the two programmes. This article explains both, based on the contract texts and the published questions and answers.

Vanuatu: a full refund within 72 hours

  • If the Vanuatu Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) or another competent authority of Vanuatu officially refuses the application, including a final refusal of citizenship, everything received for that application is refunded.
  • The refund is made without any deduction.
  • The deadline is 72 hours from the time the official refusal notice reaches Royal Golden.
  • A payment made in tether is refunded in the same amount of tether, and Royal Golden pays the network fee.
  • A tether refund counts as complete only when the TRON network shows its full transfer to your address.

A voluntary withdrawal is different

  • You may withdraw at any time with a written statement in the portal or by e-mail, and work on the application stops.
  • After a voluntary withdrawal the amounts paid are not refunded, subject to the rights mandatory law gives you.
  • This rule never affects the full refund after an official refusal.

Dominica: a different rule

Under Royal Golden's Dominica contract, if a competent authority of Dominica officially refuses the application, the amounts paid are not refunded. The official refusal letter is handed to you and is also available in the portal. The rights mandatory law gives you are not affected.

Why know this difference before signing

  • The two contracts' payment stages also differ: in Vanuatu 40 per cent at signing and 60 per cent after the FIU's approval; in Dominica 20 per cent at signing and 80 per cent after the CBIU's approval in principle.
  • Read the contract to the end in the portal. You confirm each point separately, and the signed copy is always available in the portal.
  • If you have a question before signing, raise it in the free consultation.

This article summarises Royal Golden's contract rules. The full, binding text is the contract you sign in the portal.
