Fraud with fake invoices is seen in every kind of business. That is why every invoice and receipt Royal Golden issues has a verification code, so you can check its authenticity yourself in a few seconds.
Two codes, two jobs
You may see more than one code on a document. To verify, scan the document's verification code, not the payment code. The payment code is only for sending money.
How to verify
- Scan the verification code with your phone's camera.
- The "Verify an invoice or receipt" page opens on the official Royal Golden site.
- Before anything else, check the site's address in the browser.
If the document is genuine
The page says "Genuine: this invoice (or receipt) was issued by Royal Golden" and shows these details:
- the number and date of issue;
- the amount;
- the status: unpaid, paid, void (not payable) or payment received;
- the due date, the payment date and the transaction ID, where there is one;
- the initials of the person the document was issued to.
Compare these details with your document. If anything differs, such as the amount, the date or the transaction, the document has been altered.
If the document is not found
If the page says no Royal Golden document matches this number and verification code:
- make sure you scanned the verification code, not the payment code;
- if the document reached you in Royal Golden's name, do not pay and contact us; it may be fake or altered.
A void document
An invoice whose status is "void" can no longer be paid. If someone insists on payment of such an invoice, contact us.
Why "today's" status matters
The verification page shows the document's status as it is now. An invoice that was unpaid yesterday may be paid or void today. Before paying, always look at the current status.
This guide is for the safe use of Royal Golden's financial documents.
