The Eastern Caribbean is the best-known region for citizenship by investment programmes. The programmes are alike in many ways, but their details differ. The information in this article comes from the programmes' official pages, wherever they were available, checked on 24 October 2026.
Five countries
- Antigua and Barbuda;
- Dominica;
- Grenada;
- Saint Kitts and Nevis;
- Saint Lucia.
All five are members of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) and of the Commonwealth.
Common features
- Two main routes of investment: a contribution to a government fund, or an investment in approved real estate or an approved project;
- applications through an Authorised Agent;
- due diligence on the applicant and family members;
- family members may join, subject to age and dependency conditions.
The 2024 minimum
In 2024 the Eastern Caribbean countries running these programmes agreed to make the minimum investment uniform at US$200,000. The article "The Caribbean agreement on citizenship programmes" gives the details and sources. The minimum is a floor; some countries have set higher amounts.
Two examples of official amounts
- Dominica: a contribution to the Economic Diversification Fund from US$200,000 for a single applicant; or approved real estate with a minimum value of US$200,000 plus government fees from US$75,000.
- Antigua and Barbuda: a contribution to the National Development Fund (NDF) of US$230,000 for any family size, plus government processing fees: US$10,000 for a single applicant, US$20,000 for a family of four or fewer, and US$10,000 for each member from the fifth onwards.
For the other three countries, ask for the day's amount on that programme's official website.
How to compare
- The total amount for your exact family, not just the minimum;
- conditions after citizenship, such as a real estate holding period or a presence requirement;
- each programme's banned or restricted nationalities;
- the passport's travel access for the destinations that matter to you.
In the Caribbean, Royal Golden offers the Dominica programme. This article is only an introduction to the region.
